Auckland: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) New Zealand has announced that its Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026 will be held in Christchurch on Saturday, 25 July. According to a notice issued by NRNA New Zealand, the AGM will take place at Mohoao Hall, Te Hapua: Halswell Centre in Christchurch.
The notice states that the AGM will review the organization’s achievements over the past year, strengthen institutional governance, and determine the future direction of NRNA New Zealand. It further notes:
“This AGM is an important opportunity to discuss key organisational matters, review the organisation’s performance over the past year, and help shape the future direction of NRNA New Zealand. The participation and suggestions of members are essential to further strengthen both the organisation and the community.”
The meeting agenda includes the presentation of the President’s annual report, the General Secretary’s report, and the Treasurer’s financial report. Members will also be asked to approve the minutes of the 2025 AGM, participate in a question-and-answer session with the Executive Committee, and discuss other contemporary organizational matters.
One of the major highlights of this year’s AGM will be the formation of a Constitutional Amendment Committee. The committee will review the organisation’s constitution and prepare recommendations for necessary amendments. Proposed constitutional changes are also expected to be discussed in detail during the meeting.
NRNA New Zealand has urged all eligible members to attend the AGM and actively participate in the discussions. The Executive Committee stated that members’ involvement is vital for ensuring a transparent, accountable, and effective organisation.
The AGM is expected to bring together members from across New Zealand and play an important role in shaping the organisation’s future priorities and strengthening the Nepali community in Aotearoa New Zealand.
