Kathmandu: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has expressed deep concern over the recent violence in Dewanganj of Sunsari, Siraha, and other affected areas, urging all stakeholders to pursue a peaceful resolution through dialogue, restraint, and cooperation.
In a statement issued on Thursday, NRNA President Dr. Hem Raj Sharma called on the Government of Nepal, political parties, civil society, local communities, and all concerned stakeholders to work together to restore normalcy, ensure the safety of citizens, and rebuild public trust.
The association emphasized that religious tolerance, ethnic harmony, social cohesion, and brotherhood have long been defining characteristics of Nepali society. It warned that violence, hatred, and division would only weaken the nation and undermine social unity.
The NRNA urged all parties to exercise responsibility and restraint while promoting peace, mutual understanding, and communal harmony during the current period of tension.
The association also paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the incidents and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
In addition, NRNA wished a speedy recovery to those injured and called on the Government of Nepal to ensure prompt medical treatment and all necessary assistance for the victims.
The organization stressed that restoring peace, protecting citizens, and preserving national unity should remain the highest priority as efforts continue to address the situation peacefully.
