Kathmandu, The government has made public 150 decisions taken by the Council of Ministers during the months of Baisakh and Jestha, covering a wide range of administrative, legal and development-related matters.
Government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, Sashmit Pokharel, unveiled the decisions at a press conference on Friday.
Among the key decisions, the Cabinet on June 12 approved the expansion of Nepal’s National Identity Management System and granted an extension to the Mid-Bhotekoshi Hydropower Project for reimbursement related to forest land use.
The Cabinet meeting held on June 9 endorsed recommendation criteria for the Nepal Administrative Staff College-2083 and gave in-principle approval for drafting bills related to the Nepal Tourism, Hotel and Mountaineering Institute and the control and punishment of human trafficking.
Likewise, on June 2, the government decided to form a recommendation committee under the coordination of the Home Ministry Secretary for appointing the Executive Chief of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority. The Cabinet also declared strikes and sit-ins prohibited in essential services.
Earlier, the May 19 Cabinet meeting approved the first amendment to the Civil Servants Welfare Fund Regulation-2083, endorsed 977 positions under the Ministry of Health, and passed amendments to the Land Related Rules and Child Regulation.
According to the government, the decisions reflect efforts to strengthen governance, public service delivery, disaster management, tourism development and administrative reforms.
